Summer Botanicals

There is something magical about summer that asks us to slow down.

The air feels heavier, the days grow longer, and the landscapes around us become full of plants that many people pass without a second glance. For me, those overlooked botanicals have always held the most fascination.

My love for flora and fauna didn't begin when I started making jewelry—it began when I was a little girl. My dad has spent his career as a landscaper, and he has an incredible knowledge of Florida's native plants and wildlife. To this day, I can send him a photo of a wildflower, a tree, or a mystery plant, and within minutes he'll tell me exactly what it is. Growing up around that kind of knowledge taught me to look more closely at the natural world and appreciate the beauty in plants that many people overlook.

That curiosity has stayed with me ever since.

Every piece in my Summer Botanicals Collection began the same way: with a question. What is this plant? Where does it grow? Has it been used for medicine? Does it carry symbolism or folklore? What role does it play in the ecosystem?

Before I ever pick up a jeweler's saw, I spend time learning about the plants that inspire me. I love discovering how they've been used throughout history, what they symbolize, and the important roles they play in the landscapes they call home. That research becomes just as much a part of the design as the silver and brass themselves.

Rather than creating perfect flowers or polished bouquets, I'm drawn to the wild things—the native plants growing beside lakes, winding through forests, and thriving in places that often go unnoticed. A cattail standing quietly along the water's edge. A cypress reaching skyward from a swamp. Ferns unfurling beneath the shade of old trees. They have character. They tell stories of resilience, adaptation, and the quiet beauty found in nature.

Each design in this collection is hand-pierced from sheet metal using traditional silversmithing techniques. Every cut is made by hand with a jeweler's saw before the pieces are carefully shaped, textured, engraved and finished one at a time. No two are ever exactly alike, and that's part of what makes handmade jewelry so meaningful.

My hope is that these pieces encourage people to look a little closer at the natural world. Maybe you'll notice the cattails along a pond during an evening walk, admire the silhouette of a cypress tree against the sunset, or recognize beauty in a plant you once overlooked.

Nature has always been creating incredible works of art.

I'm simply translating a small part of that story into silver and brass.
